About 75% of our production process is identical to that used with a conventional lithium-ion battery. This includes standard fabrication (slurry mix, coating, and drying) of cathode, anode, and separator rolls and standard cell packaging (ultrasonic tab welding, baking in batch vacuum ovens, insertion of the cell into a pouch and vacuum sealing, formation and pre-lithiation, and final state-of-charge). The primary difference is we replace the standard electrode and separator winding and flattening processes with our proprietary electrode and separator laser patterning and high-speed stacking processes. This enables fully automated, high-volume production of Enovix 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Batteries at a rate and cost comparable to that of conventional lithium-ion batteries.
