We’re looking to hire several experienced production professionals to help equip and support our new 50,000 square-feet lithium-ion battery production facility in Fremont, California for commercialization of our 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery.
 

Job Summary

Enovix is seeking Assembly Process Engineers to develop and support high-precision, high-volume automated assembly and packaging processes used in the production of our industry leading 3D Silicon batteries


Responsibilities

• Define manufacturing processes for the assembly of lithium-ion batteries using our patented technology
• Use stage-gate process to develop, characterize, and implement production scale-up processes
• Support the equipment engineering team in the design, equipment selection, and qualification of customized equipment for high-volume manufacturing
• Define/develop novel methods for patterning and assembling state of the art electrode material
• Work closely with the R&D team for selection of next-generation battery materials and assembly processes
• Transfer R&D processes to high-volume manufacturing with high process capability
• Interact with customers to define process roadmap based on next-generation cell requirements
• Drive cell yield improvements through DOE and SPC
• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions
• Use stage-gate process to develop, characterize, and lock processes for scale-up
• Lead troubleshooting efforts to understand and mitigate process and quality excursions in a high volume, fast paced environment


Skills and Qualifications

• BS or MS in materials science, chemical engineering, physics, chemistry or related discipline
• Experience in the design, development, manufacturing and qualification of lithium-ion batteries
• Experience interacting with customers and suppliers strongly preferred
• Proven track-record of solving problems in the scale-up of R&D processes to high-volume manufacturing
• Experience with SPC, DOE, FMEA and 8D methodologies required
• Eligible to work in the United States

Job Summary

Enovix is seeking Equipment Engineers to develop, procure and install high volume automated assembly, test equipment and tooling used in the production of our unique 3D cell architecture.


Responsibilities

• Write equipment procurement specifications (EPS)
• Source, install and release production process tools
• Design and implement customized equipment aligned with process needs
• Develop preventive maintenance procedures (PMP) and instructions
• Support manufacturing process scale-up activities
• Respond to down tools and troubleshoot production equipment
• Initiate continuous improvement plans for existing equipment
• Use equipment performance data to drive improvement projects
• Initiate statistical process controls on applicable manufacturing equipment
• Effectively communicate and publish learning, experimental results, etc.


Skills and Qualifications

• Proven track record of working in a dynamic, highly creative work environment
• 5+ years of work experience, and BS or MS in electronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering
• 10+ years of work experience and AA degree in electronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering
• 5+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
• 5+ years of experience with battery production or automated assembly equipment
• Strong fundamental understanding of assembly, joining, coating, and patterning processes
• Strong fundamental understanding of automation components: PLCs, pneumatics, motors, digital and analog IO, temperature controllers, etc.
• Ability to work on many different projects—occasionally at the same time
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Develop high-speed laser ablation and dicing processes for battery electrodes
• Develop laser welding processes for electrical and mechanical connections
• Commission and qualify first-of-a-kind automated laser processing equipment• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions
• Lead troubleshooting efforts to understand and mitigate process and quality excursions
• Own and drive continuous improvement of yields, throughput and cost
• Define process requirements for next-generation automated laser processing equipment


Skills and Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in engineering, physics, optics or equivalent
• Proficiency with laser-ablation, laser-dicing and laser-joining processes
• Minimum of 10 years in laser-related industry or related academic field
• Experience with high-volume laser processing equipment
• Experience working in high-volume and pilot-production environments
• Desire to work in a hands-on environment
• Track record of solving problems in high-volume manufacturing and R&D
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Proficiency in SPC, DOE, FMEA and statistical analysis

Responsibilities

• Understand the materials and equipment requirements of our company
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations
• Identify suitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
• Build relationships within the company and with equipment and materials suppliers
• Define supply strategies
• Run procurement function for company and execute purchase orders
• Own purchasing contracts, supply agreements and import/export agreements
• Negotiate supply agreement to meet cost roadmaps and provide security of supply
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
• Track and report key performance metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Control spending and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a comprehensive vision, strategy and goals for talent acquisition
• Work closely with the executive team and hiring managers to help create, manage and measure against aggressive hiring goals and objectives
• Provide guidance and subject matter expertise, and oversee programs and activities related to talent processes and practices
• Adopt and implement a proven, standardized job description and interview process for all hiring managers and others involved in evaluating candidates
• Implement a cloud-based Applicant Tracking System (ATS) that integrates with LinkedIn Recruiter Tools to electronically manage the recruiting and hiring process
• Track, analyze and report talent metrics to monitor and continuously improve and optimize performance
• Develop and implement a cohesive day-to-day talent operation and related programs across all functional areas

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years progressive experience in talent acquisition/recruiting, including 3+ years in a start-up, technology environment
• Experience with a company that manufactures electronic products is preferred; experience with a battery manufacturing company is ideal
• 3+ years managing a high performing talent team of internal and external resources
• Successful development and execution of a talent program with a high-growth tech company
• Demonstrated experience creating and executing a creative, metrics-driven, consultative, service-oriented recruiting strategy
• Ability to develop business cases and service requirements, influence and foster trust with stakeholders at all levels, while creating and managing strategic alliances
• Hands-on experience with relevant social media, conferences, events and recruiting channels
• Prior experience leading the development of a comprehensive employment branding campaign is strongly preferred
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and build relationships
